Who We Are
WIRA.my is an independent research and knowledge platform based in Malaysia, dedicated to advancing informed understanding of politics, governance, public policy, political economy and global affairs.
Established as a research-driven initiative, WIRA provides a platform for evidence-based analysis, independent perspectives and informed public discourse. Our work seeks to bridge academic research, policy analysis and public understanding by making complex political, economic and institutional issues more accessible to a wider audience.
WIRA operates at the intersection of academic inquiry, strategic analysis and public knowledge. While Malaysia remains our primary focus, we recognise that domestic political and economic developments cannot be fully understood without examining the broader international environment.
Through research publications, analytical commentary, policy discussions and data-driven insights, WIRA aims to contribute to a more informed, critical and intellectually engaged society.

Our research and editorial activities are guided by the following commitments.
1. Research Integrity and Accuracy
We strive to ensure that published information is accurate, verifiable and supported by credible evidence.
Research findings, interpretations and conclusions should be clearly distinguished from factual reporting, assumptions and personal opinions.
Where appropriate, publications will provide citations, references, methodological explanations and relevant contextual information to enable readers to assess the basis of our analysis.
We acknowledge that research is subject to limitations, uncertainties and evolving evidence. These limitations will be disclosed when materially relevant to the findings.
2. Intellectual Independence
WIRA is committed to maintaining intellectual and editorial independence in its research and publications.
Our analyses are guided by evidence, critical inquiry and reasoned judgement rather than predetermined political, institutional or commercial conclusions.
WIRA may engage with government agencies, academic institutions, civil society organisations, businesses and other stakeholders for research, professional collaboration or commissioned projects.
Such engagement does not automatically constitute institutional endorsement, political affiliation or agreement with the positions of those organisations.
Where research is commissioned or financially supported by external parties, relevant funding arrangements and potential conflicts of interest will be disclosed when appropriate.
WIRA retains responsibility for its editorial decisions and will not knowingly present externally dictated conclusions as independent research findings.
3. Research Ethics and Responsible Conduct
WIRA supports ethical and responsible research practices, including respect for research participants, confidentiality, informed consent and responsible data handling.
Where research involves interviews, surveys, stakeholder consultations or other forms of primary data collection, appropriate ethical safeguards will be considered according to the nature and sensitivity of the research.
Confidential information, personal data and information obtained under agreed restrictions will not be knowingly disclosed without appropriate authorisation or another lawful basis.
WIRA opposes plagiarism, deliberate misrepresentation, fabrication of evidence and the selective presentation of information intended to mislead readers.
4. Transparency and Accountability
WIRA aims to maintain transparency regarding the authorship, sources and nature of its publications.
Where relevant, publications will identify their authors, publication dates, research methods, funding acknowledgements and potential conflicts of interest.
We recognise the importance of correcting substantive factual errors. Readers are encouraged to notify WIRA of inaccuracies, disputed evidence or material omissions.
Verified errors will be corrected within a reasonable period, with appropriate clarification where the correction materially changes the original analysis.
5. Diversity of Perspectives
WIRA recognises that political, economic and social issues frequently involve competing interpretations and legitimate differences of opinion.
We encourage critical examination, reasoned disagreement and engagement with alternative perspectives.
Our commitment to intellectual openness does not require treating all claims as equally credible. Interpretations will be evaluated according to the quality of supporting evidence, methodological soundness and logical reasoning.
